Our Mission
H.U.G.G.S. (Helping Unique Girls and Guys Succeed), Inc. is committed to eradicating hunger, homelessness and poverty; providing hope; creating opportunity; and, transforming the lives of vulnerable men, women, and children in Prince George’s County, MD, and the District of Columbia. Donations are greatly appreciated as they help us continue our outreach efforts. Volunteer opportunities are also available!
Your generosity just over the last 3 years has allowed us to provide 500 students with backpacks & school supplies; 650 new winter coats, hats, and gloves for kids (and a few adult women); 326 Chemo-Care Packages; 650 Thanksgiving Baskets; 900 meals & gifts to our healthcare heroes; 675 sets of new children’s pajamas; 438 pairs of new children’s underpants and 183 new children’s undershirts; 100 Study Break Snack Packs for college students; 200 sets of new school uniforms; and, over 1000 hygiene kits for the homeless and others in need. Generous donations from our friends and supporters like you are the glue that holds our organizations together.
As we grow and begin to form a larger team, we hope to reach many more and begin to make a larger impact on those in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area.
At least once a month we host different outreach events to give back to those in our community. These events include coat drives, back to school drives, and days of service in order to reach those in need by a number of ways.
Our H.U.G.G.S. in a bag have become the most-wanted item within our outreach. These bags include toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, tissues, hand sanitizer, and more. Donations are greatly appreciated to assist with filling our HUGGS in a bag!
Carlynn spearheaded the creation of H.U.G.G.S. Inc. as a spin-off of her Joy of the Redeemed Outreach Ministry, which also hosted events under the same objectives to support her community. She is the founder of this nonprofit organization and works to collaborate with others on gaining volunteers and donations.
Joy assists with program implementation, field outreach events, and marketing efforts. She works directly with Carlynn to execute all events and service components to ensure the goals of the organization are being met.
As we bring 2024 to a close, we need your help to win. We have five critical outreach programs remaining for the year.

November - Thanksgiving Basket giveaway.
December we have 2 projects - Feeding Our Healthcare Heroes project and our Study-Break Snack Pack project.
